E85 with water/meth injection system?

Nissan vq35de turbocharged/intercooled @ 10psi on e85. Any thoughts on running a water/meth system for cooling IAT and not looking for max power. I know that e85 has a cooling effect already, and I was wondering if the injection system makes a good difference in cooling the IAT and providing some performance along with it.
As stated before, not looking for max power, just for cooling and safety with hopefully some performance on top. Anyone with any real experience. Overkill??? Research comes up with mixed results and of course the companies say it will help. Thanks for any help.

First off, no, I don't have any "real experience." But take a look at the facts. Meth/water injection cools charge temperature, while e85 produces lower combustion/exhaust temperatures. So yes, running a Meth kit on ANY FI car will make a difference, by lowering your IAT's before they get anywhere near your combustion chambers. The benefit of a lower IAT is a higher density of charge air. More oxygen molecules per unit of charge air. Oxygen is an accelerant. The more oxygen in your mixture, the more fuel you can potentially burn, and the more fuel you burn, the more power you make. You might even make more power from the cooler IAT's without even re-tuning for it.

So the short answer is yes, it will make a difference, however, the reality is that it will be negligible. So if you don't intend to turn your boost and/or timing up higher than the detonation threshold of E85 for your given combo (extremely high), it's probably not worth the expense or added complication.

That is what I need to remember, that e85 is related to combustion and water/meth for my purpose is for lowering IAT. I need to take my car back for some retuning which is why I was wondering if the injection system is worth it so I can do it all at once. If I am undestanding you right, that in order for me to have any good actual results that I would need to have the injection system tuned with my car. If I retune the car and then add the system on top of that, the results will vary and like you said be negligible. So it seems if I need to figure out if this is all worth it. I really don't want to over complicate my car, but at the same time just looking for more mods for the fun of it and to make the car as efficient as I can before turning the boost up when that time comes.

If this is the case, I would dissuade you from adding a meth kit.

You are already on e85 at only 10psi. Even having no idea what your timing is at, I can virtually guarantee that your setup has more in it, as it sits. If it were me, I would be researching what my stock bottom end, transmission, and rear end will handle, and turn up the boost accordingly. Save your money and put it into things like clutch (if you're a manual), tires, crank the boost and re-tune.

Engine built with forged internals, cams, springs, retainers. Upgraded oil pump, timing components recently redone. New headgasket installed with arp hardware. Transmission (auto) built, got DRs for the track. Ultimate performance just recently fixed my IC piping issues. I have a BBTB to install, have IM spacers already. BBK installed. Could upgrade axels. I guess I can save my money for the retune and anything else that may come up.

That's fucking awesome. Yeah fuck a meth kit, get a high boost tune. What turbo are you running? How much power does it make currently? Seems like a pretty legit setup.

I just bought a meth kit for my speed 6 to cool down my BATs as well. I'm running an E85 mix since the fuel system can't keep up with full E85. I will just be running a small D05 nozzle for now as it should not affect the tune.
