Nitto NT05R 285/40/18 vs. MT Street Radial II 305/35/18

Leaning towards the MT's, but if any of you have experience with both..what is your choice?

This would be mounted on an 18x9.5 wheel.

I've ran both and favor the MT's. Besides hooking better they also last longer.

I've had both also and I think the E/T Street is a better tire.

I've never said or claimed anyone on TSC was one of the best tuners in the state! Just another one of those lies that was told by other guys on my behalf.

These hook rather well... If anything it brought out the wheel hop.

I've only had a few street runs on them and the track once, but they hook hard for me but I make a lot less power than you

I've never ran either but seems like the people I have watched on ET's run much better than the Nitto's... Just going off what I have noticed though.

The nitto tire is a street based tire, from a street tire based company, that is designed to do fairly well at the track.

The mt et street series is a track tire, from a drag strip focused tire company, that they made street legal.

Depending what side of the picture your on, choice seems pretty obvious to me.

Looks like a lot of favor for the MT's.

The MT's list 10" as being the narrowest wheel they should be mounted to, but I'm thinking/hoping that 1/2" shouldn't matter much. I'd assume there would just be a tad bit more bulge and reduction of contact patch than originally designed for.

Know if its the 35 series that they run? I have a set of MT 305/45/18 on my 18" wheels right now, but they list 9.5" as an acceptable size. The 45's are just too friggin tall..29 inches.

our stock size is 295/45/18 so they stick with the same height but the 305's.

Any interest in selling those tires you have now?

You can have them, if you want.

I got them for free from black197 on here. They have definitely been used, but they should still have a little life in em. I used them for 1 day on the street before accepting that they are just too tall for my gearing.

I'll snap some pics here in a couple mins.
