This will be for next year at ABQ dragway. Joe if you want to kill car count then have one big class with 5 cars. I think tire size makes it fair for everyone. We all agree there is a massive difference between a 15 inch rim with a slick vs an 18 inch 295 drag radial. I am not looking for a class to see who has the fastest manual car, I want a race for manual cars to compete against other manual cars. We will still find out who has the fastest manual car by the way. But if a 900 hp Supra with a 15 drag setup racing against an all motor corvette with 19s its not worth their time. That will kill car count. There is a bunch of manual cars that would like to get in on the action. There is only a handful of purposely built drag manual cars though. Everyone puts an auto at that point.

You're right, there's not many purpose built stick cars. Everybody with a right mind has already gone auto.

My best 8th so far is a 6.30 @ 110.8

All I'm sayin is a class with 10+ cars would be fun. Obviously my car wouldn't even be competitve but I'd still enter, compete, and have fun.

I personally wouldn't waste my time if there is a 3 car count class for AWD, 3 maybe 4 cars for 15" wheel class, and minimal cars in a 17 or 18 inch class.

Stick shift class would be where it's at. If you aren't competitive now then spend money to become more competitive. Just like any other racing class.

Then perhaps if the event is a success and you are getting a real car count, that would be the time to start thinking about breaking it down to multiple classes.
