Hi everybody. I had the chance to race a corvette the other night down tramway I think that we need to race again. My boost controller was misbehaving and I couldn't get a good clean pull. I feel like my car was misrepresented and should have a retrial as it where. Can someone tell me why we aren't all out at "napa speedway" every fri sat and sun. renting a track that can fully exploit our cars. Instead we risk life and limb to race on the streets yet there is no real way of saying whose faster. I say " let's do laps till we can't stand it or our cars break". Let's do a sweet ass track day with all sick cars , have fun and tell lies. Safe and totally legal. I'm astounded to see the incredible cars on your streets that will never see a track but are used for exploring the limits of physics everyday on the roads. Post away !!
Misrepresented?? From what I heard your Volvo got bent over with the Vette driver granny shifting at 5 grand. I'd anything was misrepresented it was the Vette. It's all right though everyone is allowed to dream.
Fact: my car's rev limiter is currently set at 5k because of a bad fuel pump condition and it starts to go lean at 5200. If you look up the redline on a LS3 you will find that it redlines over 6500rpm. At 5000rpm I'm only making about 6.5psi instead of the 7.5psi I make when I go to 6500rpm.
Also I was shutting down before I reached 100+. Anyone that's raced a corvette knows they really start to shine at 100+.
I'd be happy to race again as a few people on this forum know that I never turn down a race and I never make excuses. I'll even take the disadvantage of a camera man.
The question is do you want to race me again in my current state or do you want me to get my fuel pump installed and have all of it? opcorn:
As for going around a track, it's not for me even though my car is more then capable.
It's sad that so many of have you educated comments on a car that you know very little about. The responses that are macho bull about he's way faster and all that is speculations of the uninformed. What I mean to say is that my car is super fast and anybody that can't recognize the fact that my 88' 240 can hang with and potentially beat a spectacular machine like the vette is so cauth up in posturing that they can't respect a good tune whip. For those who can't " afford" track day should consider the cost of tragically wounding them selves or others in street competition. I would love a rematch with the vette regardless of its tune or potential power output. My car is ready.
if you have the money sure.
I'm not sure as how a street race would be set up there.
Do they even have enough space to run and shutdown? (only been there once so forgot)
How does slphawk know so much about my car? And when you say beat my car I assume you mean street race. Well I highly disagree and matter of fact the Volvo had beaten cars much faster than the vette, on and off the track. So keep fearing what you don't know. Cooler heads will prevail.

Napa speedway is the ideal place to battle. long straights fast sweepers hairpins. It's all there and you can really explore the limits of your car and yourself. This will show who can REALLY tune a car.
I find it interesting that you talk down about street racing when you're the one that chased me down wanting a piece while I was street tuning my customers car.
Theres lots of video of my car at sandia mashing c6 Zo6,track prepared bullit and all kinds of ill cars. If you have never seen a volvo kill a vette than google it. I think there are alot of "Bench Tuners " here that cant grasp that a well tuned anything can be super quick.im not hating on street racing its just a poor judgement of the cars true capabilities. My car is built for track day and time attack and yet it stiil rips balls on the street. Not the point.Point is that all the raceing done on the street is no where near what these cars can offer as far as enjoyment.
No one is going to street race going aorund blind turns or through any form of street that isn't a straighaway. I get the fact and point you're making about being a time attack/road track superstar. Good job. I for one, don't go that route nor have any plans to. My car wasn't built with the purpose of having to take any turns while racing. But I don't speak for anyone else but myself.
So your Volvo is that bad huh? Like mentioned earlier, post a new member thread, let people know what you've got and let it go from there. I for one know this Vette and from what I have heard you were losing you're ass while the Vette's rev limiter was set at 5K... I seriously doubt you have enough to out accelerate this Vette. I remember putting a bus length on a similar, blue Volvo with my Eclipse, which has far less power than Sycho's Vette.
Hey man were you on Montgomery a couple of weekends ago around 9pm? I could have sworn an eclipse came beside me and started roll reving his car like he wanted to race.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
