Some more updates since last time. I sent the torque converter back to get it tightened up a little since it was stalling higher than 4500. They restalled it for free since it was their fault. It now stalls correctly and is much tighter in the top end.
My 17” skinnies finally came in after being on backorder for 6 months. They really made the car look much better.
My stepmom made a shift boot for the quicksilver shifter and it looks great!
Last but definitely not least, I ordered some rear suspension from Baseline suspensions. I ordered the Pro Launch #2 kit which is a relocated double adjustable upper control arm kit. Single adjustable lower control arms, and a #2 Anti Roll bar. On top of installing these new parts I installed upper and lower torque box reinforcements and fully welded all the seams around them. We dialed in the pinion angle and got everything all squared away.
Last night we finally were able to take it to the track to test out all the new components. The weather was perfect and the track was not crowded at all. The DA was around ~6500 FT. I did one shakedown pass to make sure the car felt alright and it felt great. I ended up doing 5 runs. All these runs were on MT drag radials. Here is the video:
1st run launch at 3400
1/8 Mph 96.3
2nd run launch at 3400(check for consistency)
1/8 Mph 96.5
3rd run launch at 3900
Bad wheel spin
4th run launch at 3700
1/8 Mph 96.1
Last run launch at 3500
1/8 Mph 95.9
So all in all it ran great all night. I think with some more suspension dialing and maybe some slicks we can get a high 10 out of it. All very impressive for a stock longblock 4.6 2V.
