A place to log my progress with the car. Now that I finally have the engine issues fixed and have a datalog setup, I can start seriously tuning it.
Currently has a stock 2.5 SOHC 8v turbo w/ a stock 2-piece intake, ported exhaust manifold, stock Garrett T3, FWD-P F3 cam, Wiseco pistons, full 3" turbo-back exhaust w/ a high-flow cat and a resonator, and a basic air-water intercooler setup. Poly motor mounts all round. Fuel system is a Walbro 255 and 58pph injectors. Trans is a 523/568 hybrid w/ 3.77 FD and an OBX posi unit, also has a FWD-P 4-puck clutch. Also have a socketed computer w/ a chip extender to easily switch out chips when I burn them. Brakes are the stock 11" vented stuff.
Best time so far is a 9.54@77.86mph in the 8th mile. Unfortunately there is not a 1/4 mile track anywhere close to me.
Plan is to max the stock engine on the AWIC, then start upgrading. F3 cam will be coming out and be replaced by a stock cam for a while (have the F3 traded out for some custom work on solid 3.0 V6 rockers I'm developing). Once I reach limit of the current setup, I will add a reservoir/ice box to the AWIC setup and see how far that goes. Then I will change the turbo and/or cam again, then it will get a ported head w/ beehive springs and +1mm valves.
Also looking forward to running it in the mountains some this year
Happened to be crossing the dam at the farm this evening and snapped a couple pics on an impulse, since I gave it a good wash today. Just phone pics, kinda trying to learn some photo skills in anticipation of having a nice camera one day Which pic looks the best to you guys?

"The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does an oil change. It's a pity the ECU is so damn temperamental."
Other than that, good job breaking the axle shafts, time to put better ones in there or do like some of the civic guys used to do and get the pep-boys specials that had a full lifetime warranty. They'd run slicks on their turbo cars, twist the axles and then turn around and bring them back in for free replacements. Good stuff.

Yeah we didn't have to get under the car so we didn't use the stands Normally we do though.
I put a later model shaft in, same as what I had in the Daytona, supposed to be stronger. I've seen quite a few pics of DSS axles broke off in the diff, stockers almost never do. There are guys running 400+ hp and slicks on stock axles w/o issues. I broke this one cause I let it wheel hop, I was actually trying to get a video of me launching it off the launch control but the setting I had it set at was letting it bog. I got pissed off and tried launching by slipping the clutch to keep the revs up, it started spinning, then wheel hopping, then bang! Ended up with a vid of me coasting in and saying "I just broke an axle" lol.
