I think all vettes should go right to a direct drive. Gets rid of all these dumb belt issues.

Here was the progress today

Had some spare time before I go whoop my son in basketball..Ill do the driver side another day. I'm out :thumbs:

I know it's on ls1how but hey more info the better I say..

Take off the coilpacks and remove the 4 8mm bolts and you should see this. Don't mind the crooked looking one I had loosened it before I took the pic



Take out this 8mm on the rocker.



Take the pushrod out..



This is what you should have..



Then take the rocker arm pedestal out and for some reason mine was on upside down...wonder why?

Awesome man, I finally got a fucking headgasket, so I'm psyched to get this damn motor finished up!

OT: Hows the G running, anyways? I really hope we can get the tune on it worked out after you're done with the vette! Knock on spring is some bullshit.

Great progress man, seems like you're learning a lot from this build, and the Vette is going to be a bad bitch.

You need to start looking into what wheel/tire combo will actually 60 one of these things with the M6!!!

Right on I wanna see that beast run!!! Yeah I have never done any of this let alone on a ls1 but pretty straight forward and I ask a lot of questions and have had a lot of great help on the way from people so I'm having fun.

The G is running really good whatever the issue was with the knock seems to be eliminated . Before I could only fo up to 11psi or so before I had 42 counts of knock but now I can get up tp about 15-16psi before I get about 5 counts of knock it's better but yeah I need to figure something out for tuning. Though I have a nice wine though from the drivetrain that I need to figure out.

As far as wheels and tires man I have no clue but what I have now won't cut it. Troy said I could try his other setup just to see how I like them but I'll research that over the winter time and buy my own set.

Sick man, I'm glads it's working itself out a bit. I would say just leave it on spring for now, then this summer once you're spent enough money on the vette for awhile, just pick up a copy of V3Lite and we'll get that G running better than factory.

Like all IRS cars, I would assume that the biggest issue that vettes have getting power down is negative camber under squat. I tried to google adjustable upper control arms for a c5 awhile back and I don't think I found anything, but I think that would go a long way if they are out there.

EDIT: Fuck dude it just occurred to me that those crazy knock counts were probably false knock caused by that chunk of metal rattling around in your IM before it went through!

Yeah that's what I was thinking but still that evo3 should be screaming. It's on a freaking chip so yeah not much I can do. Hey does your super cool spring compressor work on the vette Ill shoot you a text? I need to get new shocks prob c6z mine are shot. I upgraded the sway bars to c6z51 Ill look into the other suspension stuff. I don't see a lot of dig racing in my future I leave that work to the VR-4.

You pulling the heads to do the cam swap or leaving them on? I have some dowels made if you need to borrow them to ensure the lifters stay in there trays.
