It all cost money now to lose much weight. Cheap things are
door bars 19lbs each
Light weight hood as much as 30lbs
Tube front suspension 45lbs
Seats can be a 100lb reduction
Bigs and littles street tires can be heavy but stock steel rims are pretty light
Lighting holes can take another 40 or 50
Front and rear sway bars 30
AC 40lbs
Race car crap now that you have lost all good street handling
Now you are going to start adding weight for roll bars or cage 100
Rear anti roll bar 20
Better axles and breaks 30
Drive shaft loop 15
If you can get it down to 3100 with you in it and track legal you have done well.
My pig is 3250 with my heavy ass in the seat, I could maybe take out 40 lbs but it wants to go on the bumper when I do

Haha! I guess there are a lot more things to take into consideration for weight reduction than I thought. I guess the for sures ill be trying to do are lighter hood, seats, skinny fronts, no A/C, lightened drive shaft.. and I'll hit the gym and knock some lbs off of myself lol. Will be adding a roll cage in april

I can get mine down to 3000lbs without all the ballast and me in it by doing all the stuff ghost said. That is with a 70lb turbo and 8 gallons of water in the air to water tank.

I've got a set of those heads that you could save money on. They are used and were just pulled for an upgrade for a bigger engine.

Let me know if you are interested.

Got some better seats, a bigger in tank style fuel pump, I got rid of the 42lb injectors I had and picked up some 60lb instead, few gauges, edelbrock performer heads, and finally got the motor put in. Going to invest in some MLS head gaskets and will finish putting it all together..
